AoA,
I hope you and your loved ones are doing well in this pandemic.
Recently, I was at a social gathering and some of the folks asked me which career they should choose. Also, some of the folks were complaining that Pakistani or Mulsmf folks are not doing enough for their community!
First let me address Which Career Should I Choose?
It depends what you like to do but keeping in mind your financial needs. If you or your loved ones are having a hard time to make ends meet, then look for something which pays well and is durable for the future. I strongly suggest going into the IT sector especially IT security because it's an ever-growing job.
Here are some of the acts from BLS dept ( https://www.bls.gov/ooh/computer-and-information-technology/information-security-analysts.htm)
Quick Facts: Information Security Analysts, 2020 Median Pay $103,590 per
year, $49.80 per hour, Typical Entry-Level Education Bachelor's degree
Work Experience in a Related Occupation Less than 5 years, On-the-job Training
None, Number of Jobs, 2019 131,000, Job Outlook, 2019-29 31% (Much faster than
average)
Now let me address those people who are always complaining about Pakistani / Muslim not doing enough/ anything for their community.
Everything starts within yourself, first start helping people and then complain. By dropping some $$ on each Friday in a Masjid's donation box, if we think we are doing a great job for our community then it's not true. Most of us are dropping those $$$ for ourselves so we don't have to go to hell fire. Well, most of us will go, if we don’t follow true meaning of Islam.
Please, do something for your community/ Humanity without putting your interest in mind and this is a true Sadqa-e-Jariya (On going Charity). Build or help people to build some programs where people will learn how to earn halal income because when hunger strikes then eeman or taqwa stands on crossroads. Maybe some of you would say this is Imtihan or the test of eeman or taqw. Is easy to say it but when you or your loved one goes through this test then you will know how it feels.
I strongly suggest, while you are supporting your local Masjid, please look for other avenues where you could help people to earn a halal income. (Don't worry, I am not sending follow up e--mail for donation)
I do apologize for hurting anyone's feelings but unfortunately these are the facts of life.
Thanks, and JZK
