I'm currently using the dartR package in my research and would like to better understand the way the Scaled Euclidean Distance is computed when using the gl.dist(gl, method = "euclidean", scale = T) function. I’m interested in what the “scaling” process entails, that is, how the genotype data are transformed or standardized before the distances are calculated. Is the range from 0 to 1?
Additionally, I would appreciate it if you could point me to a formal reference or publication that describes the methodology in more detail.
Thank you in advance for your time.
Best regards,
Juliana
