Calling out to all BEGINNER photography enthusiasts!

 

A refreshing twist from our usual fare of My Neighbourhood Gems offerings, this 4-part photo journey will cover the basics of photography, a team-based photo walk-about and interactive group learning session led by a photo leader and a networking/prize presentation component:


PART 1 – SHARING BY LIEW TONG LENG

  • Join other beginner photography enthusiasts for a sharing session by multi-award-winning photographer, Liew Tong Leng, who will briefly cover on basics of photography and show you how to spot fresh creative angles to achieve extraordinary results;

 

PART 2 – SNAP, DISCOVER, LEARN & SHARE PHOTO WALK-ABOUT

  • Led in small teams by our volunteer photo leaders, put the tips you’ve learnt into practice as you go around, explore and discover the gems in the neighbourhood in search of creative photo inspiration;

 

PART 3 – INTERACT, LEARN & WIN

  • Discuss your photos in a mini interactive session facilitated by photo leaders. Submit your team’s best photographs for a chance to win a team prize;

 

PART 4 – SHARING BY PANEL & WINNERS

  • Winners will be invited to share the stories behind their photos together with Grassroots Adviser, Associate Professor Fatimah Lateef, speaker and the judges. Network with other PMETs and Grassroots Adviser after the prize presentation.


Grassroots Adviser Associate Professor Fatimah Lateef, Member of Parliament of Marina Parade GRC will host the event together with our grassroots leaders. She may also join the interactive sharing and networking session and present the prizes.

Come join us for a tour of the Singapore Biennale: If the World Changed! If you could change the world, what would it look like? The country's premier contemporary art exhibition, the Singapore Biennale, returns this year with the title 'If the World Changed', inviting everyone to re-consider or re-imagine the world we live in. Expect a diverse range of works from over 80 artists primarily with links to Southeast Asia, more than half of which are new commissions. The fourth edition of the Biennale draws on the expertise of twenty-seven curators from across the region, presenting a diversity of artistic responses with a distinctive Southeast Asian identity.
