Hello,

Thanks to Bolek and Cristina from Carnegie Mellon University, most of the initial features were re-restructured and put into an installer in the summer of 2011. Because some key things were developed, but we ran out of time, I decided to wait until those could be added to really put together some sort of active group presence.

During the summer of 2012 a new effort was funded by funds reserved from 2011, and added two summer interns (1 full time and one part time) to assist BSSD staff in moving the features from our live system to the CMU version. The programming effort was led by full time intern Elizabeth Wu (also of CMU), and Bolek helped with guidance and architecture assistance on a part-time basis. Elizabeth did a great job, and we were able to successfully move the new modules in place, build a new feature in that is very exciting, and do more debugging. John Nasset, a Powerschool guru from a school district in Helena, Montana also assisted with the design of a new ability to integrate and automatically synchronize DART with a district's PowerSchool installation.

Elizabeth's work is currently a branch, and is being evaluated for merger into the main project by Bolek:

If you are new here, welcome! If you are a returning project member, you can except a new round of significant activity as we announce the project and bring on new school district members this fall. We are using partial funding from the GAINS Grant to do dissemination activities on how DART can be used to add DEWIS Module use to compliment a Powerschool setup, as well as a stand alone implementation. These activities will take place in both Alaska and the Lower 48.
