Dear Elliott and Samuel,

I hope you are doing well.

I wanted to inform you that I have submitted my GSoC 2026 proposal for the project “Add WebSocket and gRPC Support to Flutter DevTools Network Panel.”

As part of my preparation, I have already built a working prototype through my library:

Additionally, I have included a short demo video showcasing the current capabilities of the system:

The proposed implementation builds upon this work and focuses on integrating the entire pipeline:

  • socket_trace-based interception

  • Extensions to dart:io for deeper instrumentation

  • Event emission via dart:developer and VM Service

  • Potential SDK-level adjustments where required

  • Integration into Flutter DevTools Network panel

The goal is to create a unified system where runtime instrumentation, VM events, DevTools UI, and my tracing library work cohesively to provide structured and scalable observability for WebSocket and gRPC traffic.

I would be grateful for any feedback or suggestions you may have, even post-submission, particularly regarding integration approach and feature prioritization.
