Hi Elliott, Samuel, and the Dart team,

I’m Vineet Hegde. While I haven’t been actively posting, I’ve been quietly following the great discussions in this group over the past few weeks to better understand the team's priorities. I'm writing today to share that I have officially submitted my draft proposal for the "Add WebSocket/GRPC Support to Flutter DevTools Network panel" project on the GSoC portal.

Over the last few weeks, I’ve been focusing on the prerequisite task—building an application-layer ProfileableWebSocket wrapper that handles multi-byte size calculations and memory-safe logging. The Secret Gist is linked at the top of my proposal.

I also wanted to thank you for linking the internal "Design and Sizing" documents (Issue #9507) in the project ideas list. Reading through the core team's goal of generic network observability was incredibly helpful. Based on that, I’ve centered my proposal’s architecture around integrating directly with the existing http_profile ecosystem to match that vision.

Since this is a draft, I am very eager for your feedback. If there are any areas of my architectural approach that you feel need adjustment, or if I should pivot any part of the implementation to better fit the DevTools roadmap, please let me know. I would be more than happy to refine it before the final deadline.

Thank you for your time and guidance!

Best regards,

Vineet Hegde
