Dear DART support,

I am currently working in DART for an urban simulation with the following parameters:

  • Light Propagation Mode: Bidirectional.
  • Transition: Radiative transfer simulation.
  • Atmospheric radiation Mode: Monte Carlo.
  • Sampler: Metropolis.

I aim to measure the solar radiation received by a plane surface from a 180° field of view angle at a specific point in my scene (irradiance), with values of 415.821, 432.121, and 866.65. However, I am uncertain about the correct procedure. I have created a Frame camera (with the hemispherical camera option selected, along with Radiometer Output, and FOV Maximum angle in the image set to 90 degrees, with an image resolution of 1 degree). However, I cannot locate the information in the output.

Thank you for your support.

Diego

Dear Diego,

Please find a document with the link to a DART simulation that simulates local irradiance. This simulation was done with DART version: V1380. This new DART version will be on the DART web site in the coming days.

The document presents different simulations without and with atmosphere radiative modeling, with Sobol and Metropolis samplers. Do not hesitate to contact us again if you have other questions, or if it is not clear enough for you.

Best regards

DART Team

Dear Jean-Philippe,

I am looking forward to this implementation, as this change is going to be very valuable for my research. Thank you very much.

Best regards

Good morning, I have implemented the recommendations from the PDF into my model and I am getting the BRF map images, just as you indicated in the help message. In addition, I would like to know how to calculate the total irradiance of the BRF map. I have included a PDF with the chosen options of my simulation.

Thank you very much for your attention. Best regards,
