AlienIsolation is a survival horror game based on the Alien science fiction horror film series. The game is set 15 years after the events of the original 1979 film Alien, and follows engineer Amanda Ripley, daughter of Alien protagonist Ellen Ripley, as she investigates the disappearance of her mother. Below you can find our best Alien Isolation PS4 cheats, tips and strategies to help with finding all of the logs, ID tags and to complete some of the harder trophies in the game. Alien Isolation is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, Mac and PC.
To get 'The Taken' trophy, you'll need to collect all 50 ID tags. Thankfully the map system in the game does keep track quite well of all of the tags you have collected so far in the game. What is great about it is that each ID tag is name something different, so you can easily see which ones you have collected already.
You'll need all 10 Nostromo logs to get the 'Archivist' trophy. Like, the ID tags, the map system in the game keeps track of all of the logs you have already collected, and each log is easily referenced because it will have it's own name on the map screen.
To complete this trophy easily go to Morley's office in Mission 5: The Quarantine and access the computer in that room. When the Alien drops down you'll need to be stealthy to avoid it hearing you, so don't run, crouch or walk and use your motion tracker to make sure that the Alien is not closeby.
This is another trophy that can be completed during Mission 4: Seegson Communications. To complete it, attack the android that you encounter in the hallway from behind. He'll enter his attack mode, so run away and hide, then go back and do that a few more times until he has been defeated.
If you lose track of where the alien is you will still be able to hear it if you listen carefully. Soft booms coming from above tell you the alien is in the air ducts and be suspicious of doors that suddenly open as all doors will automatically open when something moves in front of them. Stay away from drool trickling down from air ducts in the cieling as there is the likelihood the alien is waiting for you to pass underneath so it can reach down and kill you.
A good strategy is to keep the alien in sight whenever possilbe. There will be times like when you are crawling through ducts that you will not be able to do this but knowing where the alien is will enable you to avoid unpleasant surprises. Make sure you keep the alien in the corner of your eye while maneuvering in the opposite direction by using the 'Lean' function.
In any other game Alien: Isolation's 'Easy' difficulty would be considered 'Normal' difficulty so if you find yourself struggling to get past a particular section without getting killed by the alien you may want to consider dropping things down a notch. This can be easily done during gameplay.
Although Amanda Ripley can run in the game you will quickly discover that it is not a good idea as your footsteps will attract the alien to your location almost immediately. You will be in less danger and increase your chances of surviving if you slowly move down an open hallway.
Alien: Isolation has been made with a large amount of devotion to Ridley Scott's 1979 sci-fi movie classic Alien so it is advised that you watch it as there are plenty of small details that you will otherwise likely miss and it will help you get into the spirit of the game.
If you have the time make sure you unlock any doors or vents you come across as there is always the chance that you will return to the same area again at a later stage and you may need an escape route if you are being chased be an alien.
The video below will help you if you are struggling to find the location of ALL 50 ID Tags to get the 'The Taken' Trophy. ID Tags are saved automatically and can be viewed when collected under the 'Map' menu. You will not need to collect them again if you die.
One of the first things I will say about this expansion is that I both loved and hated it. Some of the levels are amazing, epic things that were an absolute blast to play and were even better than the main game ? On the other hand, as well as the bugs I mentioned earlier, some later levels contained so much frustrating puzzle-platforming that I eventually resorted to dishonourable cheat codes just to end the torment.
