In view of the fact that I have been a major critic on the Internet of his interpretations of Rumi's poetry for many years, I was very surprised and pleased by his positive remarks about our translation and explanatory notes, and was impressed by the poetic quality of each line of his prose letter.

As you can see, I replied to him three days later (on April 24, 2022). There was no further dialogue, no doubt affected by his ongoing cognitive decline (as described to me by a mutual friend).
