Listening to Masnavi While Reading the Persian

Thank you, Nazila, for the ganjoor.net site, which appears to have the
same Masnavi text (by Soroosh, based on the oldest Masnavi manuscript)
as the rira.ir site, but with a font that is easier for me to read.
And thank you, Behnaz, for your work in sharing the yasinmedia.com
site with its audio mp3's of the entire Masnavi. Have found that this
the same recording as on the Masnavi DVD that you so kindly sent me:

The MP3's are read from the Yazdi edition, which turns out to be very
similar to that of Sobhani, and presumably to the edition by Soroosh
(which I do not have). Yazdi edition: Book 1 (4004 couplets), 2
(3810), 3 (4811), 4 (3855), 5 (4238), 6 (4918). So, it is nearly the
same as the Konya manuscript, except that Yazdi has chosen some later
variants (such as "beshnaw az ney," instead of the original "beshnaw
în ney").

Have read the first 350 couplets of Masnavi in Persian and English
translation while listening to the excellent audio recordings--with
great pleasure, al-Hamdu li-llâh!

Am planning to read further and to add more correspondences between
the MP3's and Nicholson's translation gradually. If anyone else is
doing this reading and listening at a faster rate, please help by
sending me the correspondences.

The new concordance (with improved directions) is now completed
(thanks to Behnaz for listening to the beginning verse in each of the
131 audio files and sending me the Persian texts). After receiving
them, I used the four-volume concordance of Masnavi, "Az daryâ ba-
daryâ," which lists the corresponding page and line numbers in
Nicholson's 3-volume Persian text of Masnavi, which enabled me to
complete it--al-hamduli-llâh!
