I cannot find the source of this quote, but it sounds like typical New Age fake Rumi. Rumi ddi not teach mindfulness! Nor about "letting go" of the mind. Nor did he teach that people should try different religions and choose the one that works best for them. These are New Age, modern, Western ideas.
To me, this is a problem with the New Age Rumi that is so popular in the West. It is so suffused with distorted and fake Rumi quotes, that people consider that such a quote could be authentic. Or perhaps they come across a quote like this and think, "That sounds like Rumi"--and then they add the name "--Rumi" to the quote, and then it spreads rapidly on the Internet.
