The nRF52840 Dongle is a small, low-cost USB dongle that supports Bluetooth 5.4, Bluetooth mesh, Thread, Zigbee, 802.15.4, ANT and 2.4 GHz proprietary protocols. The Dongle is the perfect target hardware for use with nRF Connect for Desktop as it is low-cost but still support all the short range wireless standards used with Nordic devices. The dongle has been designed to be used as a wireless HW device together with nRF Connect for Desktop. For other use cases please do note that there is no debug support on the Dongle, only support for programming the device and communicating through USB.
It is supported by most of the nRF Connect for Desktop apps and will automatically be programmed if needed. In addition custom applications can be compiled and downloaded to the Dongle. It has a user programmable RGB LED, a green LED, a user programmable button as well as 15 GPIO accessible from castellated solder points along the edge. Example applications are available in the nRF5 SDK under the board name PCA10059.
The nRF52840 Dongle is supported by nRF Connect for Desktop as well as programming through nRFUtil.
nRF Connect SDK is a common software development kit for Bluetooth Low Energy, Wi-Fi, cellular IoT, Bluetooth mesh, Thread, Zigbee and Matter. It supports all our nRF52, nRF53, nRF70 and nRF91 Series wireless devices.
nRF5 SDK for Thread and Zigbee is a complete solution for building Thread 1.1 and Zigbee 3.0 certified products. It utilizes the the multiprotocol capabilities of the nRF52833 and nRF52840 wireless SoCs. This enables single-chip application development supporting both Bluetooth LE and Thread or Zigbee, concurrently. It also has limited support for the nRF52811.
The dongle is probably bricked due to a faulty software update. So I guess the only way is to get replacement dongles from Razer. As far as I saw, Razer folks have asked people with this issue to reach out to their private messages with the Serial Number of their headsets for verification. Not sure what happens after that.
I even bought a new one, with a new dongle of course that was included. Same problem. Been having this issue for a month or 2 maybe 3 now with my old headset. Works just fine with the jack as stated above, though it defeats the purpose entirely.
2 Synapse and windows updates later and neither seem to have worked. I doubt sending the serial number would make any difference as an entirely new replacement doesn't help either. This is clearly a software or firmware issue imo. Quite impossible to use the recovery/pairing tools as well as the headset will only stay connected for 10 sec, if connected at all.
any fix on this? this happen to me last week. until now I am trying to resolve, . If no fix with this issue. This is the last time I buying razer products. I will tell to all my gamers friends also. Really disappointing.
I have fixed the issue many people are having. I believe that when they updated the software which was when mine stopped working it relied on the motherboard USB driver for the motherboard being up to date to work. This is why mine stopped working as soon as I did the software update on rtazer synsapse. Update your motherboard usb drivers and use the razer paring tool afterwards and all should work again. Hope this helps
Its definitely a software issue! My dongle broked after 2 years of warranty and Razer support dint helped in any way, just told me to wait until razer sells replacement part. Waited 3 years still no replacement part aviable what a joke. Recently i Reinstalled Windows and tryd to put my broken dongle in and it worked. At least for one minute then the synapse software told me to update for the Nari ultiamte , restared my pc and windows doesnt find my dongle anymore. Good job , weirdly my dongle broked exactly after 2 years of warranty, maybe thats their mesh to rip off money. Im never gonna buy a Razer headset with dongles anymore, sad as someone who haves everything from razer.
So, today i was playing alrright, but suddenly my nari ult disconnected, when i went to check, i noticed that my headphones were not available on synapse, so i tried to reconect the dongle, but nothing.
I tried on a diferent computer, but the problem remains.
Sometimes the dongle connects but as soon as i play some audio, the audio plays for half a second and the headphones disconnect.
If the above process doesn't work, please check your computer's bios update. Check the usb slot you are using. If none of them work, please test on another computer. and Please provide Razer feedback.
I have the same problem with the razor nari ultimate, i can connect the dongle to the pc but when i play music 2 seconds later it disconnects and it seems random if it will reconnect. I tried the same thing on my laptop guess what same problem so it probably will be a physical problem with the dongle because i tried the headset with a cable for in and output and it worked fine and also used the recovery tool for the dongle but it still didnt work. So can buy a new dongle anywhere? Or is there another way for fixing this problem?
Hey! I know this wont fix the dongle USB issue, and you will lose the wireless feature but you can still use the headset and microphone: you can use the 3.5mm cable and attach a cable splitter to it (dividing into two cables, mic and audio) sure is cheaper than a new headset or a USB dongle, and you can use the headset you bought which is already expensive. Using the splitter it wont be recognized on synapse
Here is a link to the auction where I bought it, I paid a little less and there was a bigger promotion. The dongle hasn't arrived yet, it's supposed to arrive this week, I'll check it and write to you.
Hello. Today I received the dongle I ordered from China. It cost me 35 euros. I have already provided the website where I bought it, now it provides the website from which you should use the driver to connect the headphones to the adapter. Everything now works as smoothly as before for me. I recommend it if anyone had a problem like me!
Thanks, I have order a usb stick like that from aliexpress and it is not good. My pc see that stick, I used that pairing tool from Razer but when I connect the headphones with original cable, it dosent see it. I used same model of headphones (Nari Ultimate) but the problem was the same. Maybe only the original one will work.
I just fixed the issue. I figured that the problem was with the connection between the dongle and my usb port. The dongle wasnt properly secured to the port and that resulted in the dongle losing connection. I fixed it by breaking apart the dongle (literally) and using only the bord and and the metal casing. I super glued some of the plastic that broke from the outer plastic shell to the bord and metal to make a more snug fit and it worked. I had to use a bit of force to insert the dongle but I can say that its working perfectly. If anybody want a more detailed explanation feel free to send me a message.
This is my second Razer product that fails me, my firs was the Naga mouse which failed after 2 months of use, the micro switch started double clicking, ironically my Reddragon mouses over the years never failed, I just got bored with them and wanted something PREMIUM, so thank you Razer for such crappy products, never buying razer again.
