Hello Qigong People,
I want to announce the beginning of workshops I'll be offering outside
of the schools. (I'm not announcing it to the general public yet).

This workshop introduces a different approach to medical qigong
therapy treatments, including some pulse diagnosis and a focus on a
finite number of specific acupoints. It is open to people who have
either taken medical qigong with me before or have some prior hands-on-
healing experience if they have not. (If you are in doubt, please
email me). If you are doing or have done the ACTCM program, or have no
hands-on-healing qigong experience, stay tuned, cause I am planning a
small (and not expensive program) for you in particular. It will
likely be a 3 weekend program that includes basic skills in addition
to treatment techniques. Let me know if you are interested and I'll
put you on a list. I will keep all classes small to enhance hands-on
time.

The workshop will be May 11th (Friday evening) through May 13th at a
private clinic in Potrero Hill, SF.
The fee is $350 if paid by April 20th. Otherwise: $450 for the general
public and $400 for full-time students.
Payments can be sent via PayPal to this email address
(hexag...@gmail.com), or you can send a check made out to me to 119
Nevada St SF CA 94110 (a check would be preferable, but either way is
fine).

I will limit the class to no more than 24 students to ensure that
people get enough hands-on time, which is the focus. This class will
be a great plunge into this kind of treating with medical qigong
therapy, with the goal of enough interest in a follow-up class or two
to hone skills and elaborate on homework prescriptions not covered in
the first.

Below is a description of the offering. Feel free to share it far and
wide! (And thank you very much if you do!)

Mark your calendars!

Be well,
Suzanne

Introduction to Da Bei Qigong: The Way of Deep Compassion

This workshop presents Da Bei Qigong, or "Deep Compassion" Qigong, a
hands-on-healing medical qigong treatment approach. Students will
learn the foundational Classical Chinese medicine theories of medical
qigong, along with a variety of acupuncture points used in our
treatment protocols. The energetics and therapeutic benefits of the
acupuncture points will be discussed in detail.

Emphasis will then turn to hands-on practical Da Bei Qigong diagnostic
and treatment experience, and students will gain valuable skills
working with each other. Finally, a variety of homework exercise
prescriptions will be introduced, time permitting.

The workshop is open to students who have studied with me and those
who have prior experience with hands-on-healing. It is intended to be
the first in a two part series for those interested in deepening their
practice and abilities.

About Da Bei Qigong:

Healing is always about change. The only time you can initiate change
is now, in the present. Da Bei Qigong treatments first begin by
inviting change in the patient through our compassionate presence
before the more technical, hands-on parts of our treatments. This
first step is essential and crucial: we are transmitting the state we
wish to invoke in our patients.

Our treatments are rather like conversations due to our gentle, "yin"
approach. Most treatment modalities require the practitioner to do
something TO someone. Instead, in Da Bei Qigong we seek to remind the
patient's body to remember that change is possible; our hands are like
spark plugs, in a way. We use a finite number of acupoints to address
an infinite number of imbalances. Most if not all of these points have
second, third or even fourth functions and they were selected for
their wide-reaching therapeutic effects.

I would be interested in the beginners' workshop.
Please let me know when this is going to be done.
Thanks,
Mary Woeste
