Simply import the appliances and the images and fire up your home lab and start your preparations. Apart from these some important books on Juniper Routing, Switching & Security are also bundled for your reference and self study.

Hi guys, can anyone provide any images so I can practice using Juniper OS in GNS3? I understand most of the old images have been discontinued & can not be downloaded. I've been searching for junos-vmx-x86-64-19.3r1.8.qcow2 but can not find it anywhere. Thanks in advance ?

I would recommend JUNOS Olive for labbing if you don't have access to any images. If you have access to images under a support contract, I would advise logging in and downloading what you're entitled to. However, JUNOS Olive would be a great stepping stone for learning the OS. As for websites, I highly recommend the JUNOS workbook. I believe It's only JNCIA level, but I think it should suffice in learning the OS. Personally, when I was studying for my JNCIS-ENT, I found their study guides and feature guides extremely helpful in learning JUNOS.

As the URL so helpfully points out, this is the free training page from juniper.net, and it points you to some different resources you have available. You'll see that first link there, but another important one that helped me was the link to the Day One books. These give "short" overviews of different topics, so when you encounter something you don't recognize, search for a Day One book on it.

I need to create the same network with cisco and juniper routers. I find tutorial to cisco. When i clicked on configuration in cisco router i have a lot of options for example WICs, its emulated by Dynamips. How i can add WIC in juniper router? I'm using Juniper Olive emulated by virtual box. Someone knows different image of juniper with this option, or knows how to switch it on?

Your blogs are great!
I have CCNP r&s and JNCIA junos certs and thought i should learn more juniper! I would like to bring my juniper skills to the same level or higher to my CCNP r&S. I have a desktop with i5-6500 and 16gig ram. will this hardware be enough for virtualizing juniper devices?

I use GNS3 for things like this. It's a desktop application, as opposed to a self-contained environment on its own bootable media, but it does pretty much what you're asking for. It's really popular with networking folks, since it can emulate some Cisco and Juniper hardware (you provide the OS images), but it also ties in with QEMU and VirtualBox, so you can work with Windows or Linux hosts as well.

Performance is nowhere near real hardware, but it was designed for lab use, not production use. It's decent if you don't go overboard with huge system images; IOS 12.2 IP-only images and Micro Core Linux have small memory footprints and are great for this.
