Dear former and potential DanMUN'sters
Below you will find a bit of info about climate related events and the upcoming GIMUN in Geneva.
Model United Nations Climate Conference (MUNCC)
We would just like to remind you all about our MUNCC event taking place the 10 of December during COP15 in Copenhagen (you can find more info about the event here and additional information about the concept here). You can sign up for the event by sending an e-mail to: chri...@una.dk.

Climatedebate.dk Secondly we would like to point those of you who have an interest in climate policy towards the Danish United Nations Associations new blog www.climatedebate.dk. Currently it only entails a few articles by Morten Thulstrup! But during COP 15, those of us from the Danish UNA who have been accredited to enter the negotiations will use it to share our experiences with the rest of the world. It is however also intended as a platform for anyone who may wish to voice their opinion about climate policy and share their experiences from participation in the negotiations or in some of the many side-events during the conference. Your very welcome to drop by and sign up for our RSS feed.

GIMUN
Finally we would like to inform you that the 2010 Geneva International Model United Nations (GIMUN) will open registration on the 1st of December   2009:

GIMUN is a student-run NGO based in Geneva. Its aim is to promote the ideals and principles of the United Nations, giving students a chance to participate in a one-week annual conference, simulating several United Nation committees.

The registration period concerns those wishing to participate as delegates or journalists.
As for the delegates, they can choose between six councils:
            Security Council (SC)
            Human Rights Council (HRC)
            Economic and Social Council (EcoSoc)
General Assembly First Committee – Disarmament and International Security (DISec)
General Assembly Second Committee – Economic and Financial (EcoFin)
United Nations Peace Building Commission (UNPBC)
The registration period will be divided into two waves: The first wave will extend from the 1st of December to the 20th; the second wave from the 22nd of December to the 24th of January.
The chance of being accepted is higher for those signing up during the first wave, so before the 20th of December. They will also be notified earlier whether or not they will be able to participate. All those not chosen in the first wave, will automatically be transferred to the second wave.
To be able to access the registration form, a GIMUN account has to be set up on our website. For organizational reasons, we kindly ask you to use your full name as your username.

Please find more information on the GIMUN website: www.gimun.org
Yours faithfully,
Kratzer Sebastian and David Gößmann
Under Secretary Generals for Human Resources

Best regards - Morten Thulstrup on behalf of the DanMUN Board
