Hey Danger! 

First of all, I want to say thanks for those of you that nominated me for captain next year. This was a really tough decision for me, but I'm going to have to decline my nomination. This was incredibly hard because I love this team so much and want to work next year to help the team to develop and succeed. I think that I can still be a leader and influential to Danger and help everyone grow to their full potential without the title of "captain". Most of you wrote on my paper before regionals that I was a great leader this year -- and I will continue to fill the same type of role next year. I will still be giving my input in the form of smart-ass comments to Kelsey :P But as this past year showed, I don't need the label to be a leader on the team.

Another thing that influenced me was that personally, I think that being a captain slows my growth as a player. I have improved so much more in this past year than the two previous years when I was a captain. This is different for everyone because I've seen some players improve tremendously in their leadership role, but for me this isn't the case. 

Finally, I have been in both a 2 person & 3 person captain situation in the past. And I think the 3-captain situation was much better as far as dividing up responsibilities and "voting" on things. So I also do not want to captain Danger again if there are only two captains. 

I think that all the people who were nominated would do a great job next year and I know that our team will succeed. I will do everything that I can to get us to where we need to be.
