Hi Jake,

I checked with production today and found that it's the #6 size Fasteners
which is giving us a bit of grief. Apparently they are having a tough time
finding the right grade of Titanium. Our current plan is to order some
special thread rollers so we can machine our own. That should be done by
next Wednesday.

Your other option is to revert to a #8 size Actuator and Fastener. In that
case, I can probably push the guys to ship everything tomorrow.

Let me know how you want to proceed and once again sorry about the ongoing
delay. I guess I underestimated the difficulty of getting you what you
want.

Michael

Hi Michael, I'm getting nervous. How are the bolts coming? I was under
the impression that you were sending us stock parts. When everything
is ready can we have it shipped overnight? The sooner everything
arrives the better, and if we can't have everything in our hands by
March 12 (this Wednesday) then it will be of no use to us.

How big is the difference between the #6 and the #8 sizes?

I would have to ask what the difference between a size 8 and size 6 is. If our goal is to find out if the frangibolt will survive the thermal and launch loads, and to figure out how it actual activates, then i would go with a size 8, if there is no difference in those areas as compared to the size 6.
