I have loaded Dance Wizard on the new laptop. What is the best way to copy or move my current dance wizard to the new laptop?

Hi Steve,

On your old laptop start DanceWizard and choose the File > Settings menu. When that opens click on the Database tab. On that tab you'll see a section labeled Database File.

Copy the complete folder where the database file is located to a USB drive and bring that over to the new laptop. Copy that folder to the new laptop - you can put it just about anywhere - just don't put this under the Program Files (x86)\DanceWizard folder where DanceWizard is installed.

Once you've completed this start up DanceWizard... if you had already gone through the initial setup for DanceWizard you'll need to use the File > Database Actions menu and pick the Switch Database option. Use that to browse to the location where your database file is located on the new computer.

That should be all you need to do...

So how do I do this if I have both DW 1.0 and 2.0?  Do I need DM on the new laptop?

Thanks!

Hi Steve,

There's no need to install DM on the new laptop. And you can install DanceWizard version 1 and the test version of DanceWIzard 2 you're using... All you need to play dances is your database file and the complete folder where it's located in copied to the new laptop.
