I've had a few cuers report some issues with X10 remotes not working... so I created a test program (RemoteTester.exe) that can be used to see if the remote and receiver are working correctly. If you want to try it you can download it from my Google drive:

Start with the remote receiver not plugged into the laptop. Run the tester, and after it’s running plug the receiver in. The first message you should see is the ‘Received: HouseCode=A UnitCode=6 Command=DEVICESTART’ line.

Start pressing buttons on the remote and it should report each of the buttons that are pressed:

Make sure that for each button pressed (except the blue buttons for up/down) all report the correct house code and unit code that is set on the remote.

When configuring the remote in DanceWizard (Settings Window Remote tab) the house and unit codes must match what the remote is sending.
