Scene Changes

Act 1:

Scene 1: Park
Takes place in front of bar.

Scene 2: House
Set is draped white. Stage right is bed and shelf containing Sarah’s
items. Stage right is crib.

Scene 3: Labyrinth Gate
Bed, shelf, and crib are removed. The bottom inside corners of the
white frontdrop are pulled back and pinned, the reverse side is
revealed, and is painted to look like stone walls. Behind that
frontdrop is the Labyrinth gate (needs to be in place beforehand).

Scene 4: Stone Labyrinth / Riddle Doors
Labyrinth gate and frontdrop are removed. Backdrop is stone walls. On
stage are the wall segments, held by goblin crew. Riddle Doors are at
the ready. Worm is at the ready.

Scene 5: Dance, Magic Dance
Same as Scene 4. After the second chorus, Goblins and King will all be
off stage, in front of bar. The scene is changed to Scene 6 while the
song and dance finishes.

Act 2:

Scene 6: Helping Hands
Frontdrop is black, with holes for Helping Hands. Hoggle’s door is off
to the side.

Scene 7: Oubliette
Same as Scene 6. Hoggle’s door is used to exit through frontdrop.

Scene 8: Underground
Frontdrop is removed. Backdrop is black, with False Alarms painted/
hung on it. Cleaners at the ready. Cleaners chase characters off stage
and exit the front door. Short scene occurs in front of bar as stage
is changed to Scene 9.

Scene 9: Hedge Labyrinth / Knocker Doors
Frontdrop is green hedge walls. Knocker doors at the ready. Rocks at
the ready.

Scene 10: Prince Hoggle
Takes place in front of bar. Set is changed to Scene 11 during this.

Act 3:

Scene 11: Firey Forest
Frontdrop is green forest.

Scene 12: Bog of Eternal Stench
Frontdrop is removed. Backdrop is green bog.

Scene 13: Peachy Hallucination
Takes place in front of bar. Set is changed to Scene 14.

Scene 14: Ballroom
Frontdrop is white. Ballroom props. Behind frontdrop is goblin gate.
Bedroom set at the ready. Onstage actors perform set change.

Act 4:

Scene 15: Junk Bedroom
Same as Scene 1 except for crib.

Scene 16: Goblin Gate
Bottom inside corners of white frontdrop are pulled back to reveal
goblin gate (backside of frontdrop is painted as
stone wall. Bed and shelf are removed. Scene change here is done by
cast, not crew.

Scene 17: King's Warning
Takes place in front of bar. Set is changed to scene 18—gate and
frontdrop removed.

Scene 18: Goblin City
Backdrop is goblin city. Walled off area or house enclosure of some
sort onstage. Rocks at the ready. Characters end up in front of bar
for short dialogue while set is changed to Scene 19.

Scene 19: Showdown
Backdrop is Escher. Perhaps stair props. Scene 1 props at the ready.

Scene 20: Bedroom Party
Backdrop is white. Bed and shelf stage right, crib stage left.
