It is with profound sadness that I announce the passing of HG Saloni ji, beloved wife of HG Raj Somani, while in London surrounded by family and the chanting of devotees. 

 

The Somani family has been a pillar of support for ISKCON, not just in Damodardesh but in various projects worldwide, often in quiet yet impactful ways.

I fondly recall how ISKCON UK connected HG Raj to me and Maha Mani Krsna Prabhu in the mid-90s. His commitment to supporting our efforts was evident when he generously offered an apartment for hosting devotees and training programs. That apartment, famously known as 607, has been a sanctuary for many over nearly two decades, with Raj always graciously allowing us to use his dedicated room for visitors.

His humility and continuous desire to uplift ISKCON and its devotees have been an inspiration. From the Gopalas to the new Raj Mahal, he has consistently thought of ways to benefit devotees. His initiative to support Tribal care for each plate sold at Raj Mahal exemplifies his caring nature, always reminding us of the importance of giving back.

None of this would have been possible without the steadfast support of Saloni ji. As we reflect on her life and contributions, I kindly request everyone to pray for her soul. We trust that her good heart and dedicated service will lead her to the lotus feet of the Lord. Let us also remember Raj ji and his family in our prayers, as they navigate this profound loss.

The funeral services and Vaisnava bhojan is likely in London on the 7th nov 2024 and we will find an opportunity to have a condolence event when Raj ji returns to Dubai with another Vaisnava Bhojana at Raj Mahal.
