Indeed - DOF-1 has such an introduction.
It all started with Claire....
Ok - first crack at this.
Maybe Claire can edit? or other DOF-ers?

Claire, a hard core bicycle rider for around four years, traveled to Quito and found herself one of very few women cycling there.  Fast forward to after her experiences with Biciaccion .... her return to the twin cities.... her decision to teach Bicycle Feminism, a experimental college (www.excotc.org) course in the spring of 2007.... And we have Dames on Frames ONE, the class-selected final project for the course.  It was a fantastic experience hearing, discussing, developing, writing, researching on such a broad range of topics from such a diverse group of students and facilitators (we were all facilitators and students)!  DOF ONE included redefining the word street, biking to feel safe,  cartoons and artwork, race reports, information about bike to work week, pieces on two local bicycle spots in the twin cities (Grease Pit and Sibley), poetry, discussion of solutions to some of the gender differences in bike transportation, and MORE!  We were a group of 11 writers and artists of varying genders... and amazingly, we have made it to issue FIVE!  What's to come?  Hopefully MORE of the good stuff from previous contributors and new contributors!  Think you have something wonderful to contribute to DOF SIX???  Please feel INVITED to send your material to any one of the DOF FIVE contributors....

2.  Dames on Frames has already written an "Introduction", maybe in #1?  Lee will get back to us about that so we ca5.n post something in time for #5.
