While Diu's fort which made it to the 7 Wonders of Portugal still has
canons on it, those on the fort in Daman have disappeared!
Cannon balls used to be carted away by wannabe bodybuilders in the
days when Daman had no gym; later, by 'Bangarwallahs' (scrap dealers)
and the few remaining are now stored in a 'museum' within the fort
walls in the vicinity of Fatima Convent.
