Job Description:

·         Work closely with Mobile Team Lead to design and develop android native and web applications on android smart phones

·         Participate in the analysis, design and development (coding) of existing applications and

·         Consult with server-side engineers to refine and extend content APIs to expose content to mobile applications

·         Optimize and extend existing applications and other web-based applications for performance and enhanced user experience

·         Strong object-oriented design and development skills

·         Broad-based and in-depth experience with the entire system development life cycle

·         Knowledge of using web services and RSS feeds in the application

·         2+ years of Experience with Java/JSP and Android OS mobile development preferably with apps on the Android Market.

·         Expertise or familiarity with well-designed user interfaces, specifically for Android or other common mobile devices.

·         Keep up-to-date on the latest Android SDK developments, customer feedback and testing

·         A firm understanding of building mobile applications that utilize web-services (either HTTP based, XML, SOAP, JSON or other services), in order to tie applications to server-side APIs.

·         Experience in web technologies including SOA / Web Service implementation would be an advantage

·         Should be familiar with version control (Subversion)

·         Demonstrated dedication for creating well-designed interfaces, or a desire to continuously improve design and interfaces for new products and existing products to adhere to more sensible Human-Computer-Interaction principles.

·         Knowledge of JavaScript/JQuery, HTML 5, CSS, JSP is an added advantage but not a must have

·         The ability to work in a fast-paced environment

·         Experience with Java, EJB, and JSP technologies and frameworks a plus

·         Strong knowledge of design patterns and MVC framework a plus

·         A thorough understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) is critical

·         Past experience in a highly collaborative, team-driven development environment

·         Typically have a BSC/BS/BA in Computer Science or a related field

·         MCS/MS in Computer Science a plus but not requirement

·         The ability to multi-task and be detail oriented

·         Outstanding inter-personal and communication skills

·         Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, and the ability to interact with all levels of technical and non-technical staff
