Ben Bernanke is not missing on any opportunity to reassure that the central bank is working its best to help the economy grow at a higher pace, but this time he was afraid that the government might come in way of a stable recovery. In a recent speech he clearly attacked the government by expressing concerns that the policymakers could hamper economic recovery.

President Obama is struggling with the dawdling face of US economy, and his chances of winning again in 2012 mostly rely upon how fast he can create jobs and usher growth. The latest growth projections suggest that there is an urgent need to kick-start economic activity and at the same time it must be made sure that the recovery process is self sustainable.

The only good thing that came with the ongoing global economic crisis was the opportunity the learn more about the hidden vulnerabilities of globalizing. I’ll try to put it in a simple way- If US sneezes; the developing world can catch the cold.

It’s a sheer misunderstanding about the concept of long term investing when people think that they can buy and hold a basket of stocks and achieve their financial goals. You are lucky if you haven’t experienced the brunt of recent recession, which proved that “buy and hold” is no longer a foolproof strategy.

The radical change that we are witnessing through oil price increases, rising food inflation, skyrocketing prices of commodities such as aluminum, steel, gold and silver did not come as a surprise. Now, many fear another crisis is on the verge of hitting the US economy and this time it will spread its wings across the globe. The impact could be of much higher magnitude than the recent recession.
