Dear Yeshpal ji,
As the New Year begins, it brings a sobering realisation that people across social and economic strata have fallen prey to the exploitation of fundamental humanitarian ideals. These values, once meant to unify and uplift humanity, have been twisted to serve political agendas. The pretence of being saviours of religious faith has transformed many into propagators of divisive ideologies, masquerading as the will of the Maker.
At the heart of this lies a deliberate disregard for the wisdom and legacy of great leaders like Hon. Dr B.R. Ambedkar, Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Patel, and Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. These visionaries dedicated their lives to challenging inhumane treatment and promoting equality, justice, and human dignity. Their battle was not just against colonial rule but against entrenched poverty and the systemic disenfranchisement of the masses by governance models designed to exclude and exploit.
Historically, this pattern of exclusion dates back to medieval times, where faith and caste were weaponised to consolidate social and economic power. Today, this exclusionary mindset has shifted from emperors to the mega-rich corporate elite, whose singular focus remains the accumulation and control of wealth and resources. This agenda thrives on exploiting blind faith and religious sensitivities to manage propaganda and sustain power structures.
Since the formation of the RSS and the Hindu Mahasabha in the 1920s, a systematic effort has been made to distort the legacy of these great leaders. Propaganda sought to pit Gandhi against Ambedkar, Ambedkar against Nehru, and Hindus against other faiths. Manusmriti-inspired caste superiority became the ideological tool to fragment society. This deliberate divisiveness was further bolstered by parallels drawn with Nazi ideals of racial supremacy, militarisation of youth, and the consolidation of an exclusionary Hindutva ideology.
The Dalits and so-called lower castes, designated as such under Manusmriti, were intentionally alienated from the inclusive vision of the Indian National Congress. The secular ideology nurtured by Gandhi, Nehru, Patel, and Ambedkar was mischaracterised as a legacy of political rivalry rather than a unified effort to create a just and equal society. This narrative has not only weakened the Congress but has also set up caste-based conflicts to divide the very fabric of Indian society.
Today, we stand at a critical juncture—it is now or never. The democratic framework painstakingly built by our founding leaders is being eroded and replaced with a Hindutva-driven vision of a Hindu Rashtra. This vision draws heavily from Manusmriti's discriminatory principles and threatens to institutionalise caste hierarchies as governance norms. Hindus are being divided along caste lines, with those opposing Manusmriti branded as communists or Marxists, further alienating them from Dalit movements and other secular forces.
The Dalit and Buddhist movements, which should stand united against Hindutvavadi agendas, are instead fragmented, often manipulated to oppose the strongest political opposition—the Congress. This benefits the BJP, which uses this division to consolidate power, ensuring that the vast majority of deprived, low-caste Hindus remain disenfranchised and divided. Propaganda is heavily invested in discrediting Gandhi, Congress, and even Ambedkar, portraying them as rivals rather than collaborators in the fight for justice and equality.
Without unity and a cohesive strategy among Congress, Dalit leaders, and Buddhist followers, democracy risks being extinguished. The judicial system, electoral framework, and investigative agencies are being systematically compromised. Leaders willing to sell out for personal gain further undermine resistance to this Hindutvavadi agenda, paving the way for an exclusive Hindu Rashtra built on Manusmriti's oppressive principles.
It is time to wake up to these realities and forge a united front before it is too late. The legacy of our great leaders and the democratic ideals they championed must not be allowed to fade into oblivion.
Those proteststing in teh UK and USA are gone quiet still many of them cpitualting wthi the Hindutvvadi leaders and attacking Congress which is now giving them a real change.
Warm regards,
