Does anyone else get a problem with Netflix freezing after 2mins into a programme. I was watching the series Witness number 3 and after 2mins it would freeze, I would have to go out of the app back in wait until it stated and skip the first 2 mins and watch from there. It even did it after I watched one episode and I let it continue to the next one and it froze after the 2mins. My Netflix is not through BT but Netflix direct.
@Chowie It is annoying I only just renewed my contract. Took out Netflix via Netflix . Now found out there won't be any red button on TNT sport. Should have gone with my gut instinct and switched to Sky Stream . BT seems to be going down hill.
If you recently updated Windows before the Netflix freezing problem started, you may need to troubleshoot fixing the issues caused by those updates. Specifically, you may need to roll back your graphics driver to the version that was previously working.
On both Android and iPhone, you have the option to turn off the device or reboot. When you're walking through the steps to reboot, ensure that you do a hard reboot of your device. You'll know you did this correctly if you see the OS loading screen upon startup.
Even if the network you're on has blocked Netflix streaming services, you might be able to unblock Netflix with a VPN connection. If you have a VPN service, you can connect to a VPN with an Android or set up an iPhone VPN.
Opening and closing apps, installing and uninstalling programs, and running multiple windows leave a digital footprint that your processor, system memory, and disk must continue to handle.
To clear your browsing data on Chrome, open the Settings page, select Privacy and Security on the left, and click Clear Browsing Data. You can then select the data you want to remove and click Clear Data.
Netflix might continue freezing no matter what you try if your firewall keeps blocking it. You can ensure that this is not the case by entering your firewall settings and adding Netflix to its allow list.
Do you have problems with your internet or streaming at the same time as the Fios TV issues? Could be a router issue. Have you tried powercycling the router and the Fios boxes in that order? If it is NOT an internal network connection problem, then it is most likely an internet connection problem. The router is the first suspect in such cases. Check your router speed here when you see issues on the TV and make sure the speed matches what you are paying for:
It could also be an issue with the ONT but both of those issues would result in internet issues also. The tests may not show the exact problems you are having. See if Verizon can send you a replacement router and see if that corrects the issue. Also check all the splitters in the system and replace them especially if they are NOT MoCa 2.0 certified.
It might be helpful to try some additional troubleshooting steps before reaching out to Fios customer service again. Have you tried checking the signal strength and quality on your TV or devices using the FiosTV guide or settings menu? Are there any error messages or codes displayed when the freezing occurs?
Additionally, since you've already checked all connections multiple times, it might be worth exploring other potential causes. For example, have you considered running an internet speed test to ensure that your connection meets the minimum requirements for Fios TV service?
I understand that getting someone on the phone or in a chat who can actually help you resolve the issue can be challenging. If you're willing, I'd like to offer some suggestions and ideas to potentially get you closer to resolving this problem.
Do you have the legacy STBs that connect via coaxial cable, or the newer ones that connect via Wi-Fi?
If they are the legacy units, could you check the error stats to see if they are incrementing?
Before I completely reworked the coaxial cable infrastructure here at home, I was frequently seeing deteriorating signal quality. I discovered a splitter in the basement with a wide-open tap/port. Once I purchased a terminating plug and connected it to the port, the problems vanished.
Later, I purchased a 1000' box of Belden quad-shielded RG6 coaxial cable, tools, new splitters & compression connectors and reworked everything including the splitters. I also found that the cable had not been properly prepped before some of the connectors (crimp type) were applied.
My HP Spectre has had issues freezing when I use it for an extended period of time since I purchased it. My most recent problem is when streaming Netflix it will freeze multiple times while watching a single episode of a series. I have to shut it down and open it back up every time. Any suggestions.
I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing freezing issues with your HP Spectre laptop. Freezing problems can be caused by various factors, including software issues, hardware problems, or a combination of both. Here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot and resolve the freezing problem.
