Good afternoon Gentlemen,

Attached is an overview of North Dakota’s new “state CRP” pilot program. The program goes live in the next month or so. This is something we should be promoting with our habitat applicants. My understanding is the main point of contact will be between the landowner and respective Soil Conservation District office. They want grass in the ground this spring so they’ll be moving quickly.

The email below also contains information on how we can use contributions received in memory of Brian Johnson – though less encouraging. I think we hold off on committing to anything at this point as I think there are better options out there (e.g. the State’s tree planting cost share program with a 75/25 cost share).

Please let me know if you have any questions. We can discuss further at our next meeting.

Have a Happy New Year!

Good morning Lukas-I attached an overview of the new program that should go live in the next month or so.  I’ve been visiting with my coworkers, and we don’t really have any projects on WMA’s locally that you guys could cost share on.  But this new program may allow you to work with a local private landowner to help develop habitat on his property.  I’ve kept your info so if I hear of anything that would work, I will contact you.  If you find someone interested, we’re willing to assist also and I’ve let our private lands biologist know so he’s looking as well.  We’ll stay in touch and hopefully something promising will develop.  Thanks for the text and enjoy the New Year.

Brian
