On the DJI Mavic Pro Drone, the Wi-Fi information can be reset, which can solve many simple connectivity issues, or a full factory reset can be performed to correct deeper problems, or prepare your drone for sale or gifting.

Microsoft WindowsApple macOSMicrosoft Windows runs on computers produced by multiple companies, such as Lenovo, Asus, Dell, Toshiba, Hewlett Packard, Acer, and Sony.Apple is the only company that makes macOS computers.

Whether you are looking to sell your drone, give it to a friend or family member, or perhaps try to correct issues and errors that have occurred when nothing else has worked, you might want to reset your drone or controller and get it back to a pristine factory state.

You can do a factory reset of a few of the popular models of DJI drones using the DJI Assistant 2 software. Many of the newer DJI drone models cannot be reset to factory settings, but you can remove your personal information from them prior to selling, or you can downgrade the firmware to fix bugs.

If you were wanting to factory reset due to errors and issues, you can roll back your firmware version (for the Drone and the Remote Control) by following the steps above for the DJI Assistant 2.

Thankfully DJI has included a way to easily factory reset your DJI Smart Controller. This makes sense, as it is basically a wifi-enabled smart device and remote controller all in one. So, like many smartphones, you can easily go in and, after a few simple steps, reset the controller.

Put my drone away 3 months ago all was working great, only thing i did was accidentally delete my DJIgo4 app,so had to re-install it. I put the Latest firmware to drone then i had to downgrade to factory settings as their was no camera settings at all?.My RC has latest firmware and i have no issues with flying the mavic air. Also i re-set my camera settings to default.

Thanks for the reply.
When i put my mavic air away all was working as it should of been,a few weeks later i un-installed the app off my phone.
2 months later when i was going to fly my drone i had to re-download and install the latest app for my mavic, that is when the problems started i.e. no live camera view.

I then installed the latest firmware to my mavic and the RC using DJI Assistant from my computer, still no live view, and i believe their was no camera settings as well ( Not 100% sure about no settings).

Apart from the live camera view the mavic air is working flawlessly it records and saves to my internal memory and an SD card.I will try caching the video to my android tablet to see if it saves my video and pictures,if it does i will know its transmitting video signal to my tablet.

When i connect my phone to the RC my screen faces backwards because my phone has the connector back to front,I can use the long lead with the adaptor(That is supplied with the air) through the left hand side of the RC arm and connects to the USB port of the controller but it interferes slightly with my hand position. The original Android phone connector that i am supposed to use is too short to twist backwards and fit in.

Hi
My screen rotates on my phone as well, but the only way i can connect it with the supplied android lead is physically back to front IE the RC control sticks are facing me as normal but the whole phone has to be turned 180 degrees to connect to the installed cable that is fitted into the RC arms IE my screen is facing to the floor so i am looking at the back off my phone.
Hope that clears up what my problem as i do not want to try and take my phone apart un-solder the charging port and turn it 180 degrees and re-solder it back in.

If you have a computer virus on your drone, then a factory reset will mean you lose all your data, but the virus is removed too. Once you restore the drone, it should go back to its original capabilities.

Or, and this is my theory, DJI does not want their customers to resell their product. So to discourage this behavior, they did not include the one detail that allows you to wipe all of your data from the hardware.

Although there is no factory reset option, you can set your camera back to its original default settings. This means that if you did have a virus that stopped you from editing your camera settings, you could use this default setting to bring the original camera style back.

A factory reset removes all the data from the device in question, and the device then restarts with only the basic functions it could have. Basically, it goes back to how it was when the device was in the manufacturing factory. This type of reset cleans the system entirely.

A normal reset will not remove your data. It will bring you back to its original state or even its last saved state. This means if you like to use Automatic Mode and you set your Mavic Mini to automatically use Automatic Mode, even when you reset your camera settings, it will still recognize that you like this feature.

So if you cannot remove your data from your Mavic Mini, what can you do instead? The best thing to do is save all of your data onto an SD card and not save anything to the drone itself. Then, when it is time to sell, remove the SD card.

However, even though your content has been removed, the following user will have your history of setting changes logged into the drone still. Unfortunately, that cannot be removed without a factory reset.
