Hello everyone, I'm currently conducting research on deep soil organic carbon simulation. I've noticed that in Daisy's organic matter simulation, the downward movement of organic carbon only occurs through roots, tillage, and biological activities. It seems there's no specific discussion on the vertical movement of dissolved organic carbon. Is this because the DOM/DOC module hasn't been included yet? I would greatly appreciate any work done on this aspect of the Daisy model or any suggestions or references!

Hello.

The DOM module is not enabled by default.  It also relies on the mulch litter module for generation of DOM, which is not enabled by default either.


They were developed based on lab experiments focused on pesticide degradation, and we have later found the default calibration is very bad for simulating carbon transport on field scale. We have a master student and a phd student working on improving them based on field data.  The master student will present her work online Wednesday.  See here how to participate:


If you want to experiment, I have attached a setup file where they are enabled.  Again, note that the parameter values are definitely wrong.
