Not Paul the Pharisee

Read Hebrews 3:15

   "15 Scripture says, 'If you hear God speak today, don't be stubborn. Don't be stubborn like those who rebelled.' "

Observe

   This is definitely a quote from Scripture. It says so right in the verse. It is also exactly the same as what the Holy Spirit said earlier. And it is still not an exact quote of Scripture. 

    So, what can we conclude? Whenever the author of Hebrews is quoting Scripture, he is doing so from a fallible memory. He has not memorized it word for word like the Pharisees did. He is probably not a Pharisee. He is probably not Paul. This is another reason to say that Paul did not write the manuscript we call Hebrews.

   Stop calling the author of Hebrews Paul.
