An Example, I Guess

Read Hebrews 6:13-15

   "15 So Abraham received what God promised because he waited patiently for it."

Observe

   This does not mean that if Abraham felt impatient, then he would have lost the promise. Perhaps if he despaired and killed himself, he might have lost the promise. But, even then, I am not sure he would have because God can bring people back to life.

   I am not sure why the author mentioned Abraham's patient waiting as a reason to receive what God promised.

   It seems to me that once God promises, there is no chance it will not happen. The author even makes this point in the next paragraph.

   I guess he mentioned it as an example for us to follow.
