Read Hebrews 7:20-23
"21 but Jesus became a priest when God took an oath. God said about him, 'The Lord has taken an oath and will not change his mind. You are a priest forever.' "
Observe
With this kind of oath, we can be confident that the priesthood of Jesus will never be replaced by something new and better, unlike what happened with the Levitical priesthood.
