But, what does a young guy who takes off his clothes for a living know about the fifties? I submit that he sees a family and traditions. Could he feel that something is missing from his life? Could it be that he wants to know what it is like to get up Christmas morning with a mother, a father, weird gifts from grandparents, and that one wished-for gift? Does he have a hole in his life that he thinks he can fill with a couple of nights in a house from a make-believe story? That's it isn't it? Without Jesus Christ, life is just make-believe. When we are unhappy, we just make up some happy!
"And an angel of the Lord suddenly stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them; and they were terribly frightened. But the angel said to them, 'Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people; for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.'" Luke 2:9-11
Jesus is not made up. He is not make-believe, but He does fill what is missing in a life.
