CONGRATULATORY MESSAGE ON NIGERIA’s 60TH INDEPENDENCE
The management and staff of the Benue State Planning Commission would like to join with other well-meaning Nigerians to congratulate President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Samuel Ortom on the occasion of Nigeria’s 60th Independence Anniversary of the country.
We would like to commend especially the administration of His Excellency Governor Ortom for the successes achieved by his administration in the development of Benue State as an economically self-reliant federating unit of Nigeria.
For despite the unprecedented challenges of two national recessions, the security crisis created by the invasion of Fulani herdsmen, a dangerous and disruptive pandemic, His Excellency has scored numerous achievements in building and completing roads and electricity infrastructure across the state, promoting agricultural mechanization, investing in revamping moribund water projects and building new ones, refurbishing hundreds of schools and health facilities at all levels, securing and preserving the accreditation of our premier healthcare training institutions, boosting technical education by increasing the number of polytechnics, passing new laws to improve security and public safety, creating new institutions to strengthen public sector governance and financial management and to drive progress in science, energy and technology, and starting an online television, among many other accomplishments.
We pray God to continue to bless and keep you, our First Lady Dr. Eunice Ortom, our Deputy Governor His Excellency Engr. Benson Abounu and his wife, the Speaker and members of the State Assembly and the Chief Judge of the State and all the government and people of Benue State and Nigeria.
God bless Benue State. God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria
Sam Unom,
