The 25th Sutra is again further explanation, description of the īśvara tattva.

The 25th Sutra is

त॒त्र नि॒र॒तिश॒यं सर्वज्ञ॑बी॒जम् ॥ १.२५॥ (सर्वज्ञत्वबीजम्)
Taṯra niratiśayaṁ sarvajña-bījam ॥ 1.25 ॥ (sarvajñatva-bījam)

Taṯra niratiśayam sarvajña bījam.

Taṯra in it, there in īśvara or in that state of the īśvaratvam there, in that state niratiśayam - unsurmountable, unlimited, unsurpassable, eternal - niratiśayam. Atiśayam and niratiśayam it is. Sarvajña - omniscient, sarvajña, jñā and sarvajña, jñā is knower, sarvajña knower of everything, omniscient as we call in english -knowhere of everything. Everything means everything. A total knowledgeable person of everything. A total knowledgeable person of all the knowledges - sarvajñāna jñā sarvajña, bīja is a seed. So in īśvara sarvajñam is unlimited and in others it is in a bīja seed form that is how the sutra meaning goes.

In īśvara it is the unsurmountable unsurpassable source of sarvajña. It is a flow of knowledge and the seed form the bīja form and that bīja is unfolding. A standard example is given that the banyan tree even the peepal tree vaṭavṛkṣam and the aśvatavṛkṣam the seeds are very small. We cannot even hold with our two fingers. The seeds are so small, sometimes invisible to our normal naked eye. But in that particular small single seed indivisible seed the entire evolution of the entire tree the huge banyan tree, a huge aśvatavṛkṣam tree is there in that particular seed.

The knowledge which is going to express, the knowledge which expresses, the knowledge which is visible, the knowledge which is knowable, the knowledge which is in its full form, an exploded form of the knowledge, an expressed form of the knowledge of the entire world is there in it as a seed form expressed, exploded exposed, expressed manifested but it is there in the seed form.

Taṯra niratiśayam sarvajña bījam - in him that entire sarvajña bījam. Sarvajña - the capacity of sarvajñatā, the capacity of all knowableness is in seed form. And it is unlimited, really knowledge is unlimited, really the knowledge is immeasurable it is, what we know, we think what we know, what we express that we know so many things is all nothing compared to what is to be known. What is known is nothing compared to what is to be known. What is known is insignificant in front of what is unknown. That is how sarvajñaḥ. But it is said that it is sarvajñaḥ, this īśvara is sarvajñaḥ, that īśvaratvam is sarvajñaḥ. In him it is the highest limitation and in him it is fully expressed and that is the one important dimension. I repeat again it is one of the quality, one of the guṇa of the īśvara, though it is guṇaless but this is one dimension. Many times we come across people really awestruck shocked to know their knowledge. One personality is Paramacharya of the Kanchi Matha Mahaswamy, Periyava is called Mahaswamy Sri Sri Sri Chandrashekharendra Paramacharya unbelievable, immeasurable knowledge there are instances recorded, there are people who lived with him, who saw with him and who had experience with him, his knowledge is unbound and such persons are there, who is an expression of īśvaratvam. That's why it is said that Kanchi Paramacharya Sri Sri Sri Chandrashekharendra Mahaswamy he is a walking god, living god it was said, though he passed away. A walking god he was called, a storehouse of knowledge, the knowledge is in a seed form in him and it explodes, expresses like a banyan tree, like a aswatha tree it is in him, it comes out.

Īśā vāsyam upaniṣad beautifully says, īśā vāsyam idam jagat. The whole world is full of īśvara. And that īśvaratvam is full of knowledge. It is a beautiful suggestion, an important dimension in this that everything is source of knowledge, everything has something to teach and everything is filled with knowledge.

There is another great personality of the Mahasannidhanam the Sringeri Sharada Peetha Mahaswamy who also attained samādhi, the earlier Mahasannidhanam Chandrashekharendra Bharati Mahaswamy, a great personality. So īśvara quality is immeasurable knowledge, unsurpassable knowledge, it is jñāna, ghanaḥ, jñāna ghanaḥ it is a consolidated knowledge. We should also remember when we say we have knowledge when we express that and really true that we also have knowledge, we also know something and that is where the importance comes that knowing whatever, little we know whatever knowledge we have is also an expression of īśvara.

Again Yoga confirms, the Sutra confirms that īśvaratva is in us and we are the expressions of that īśvara. That is why the beautiful Sutra of this one is an important dimension tatra niratiśayam sarvajña bījam, īśvara is full of that dimension and though we say that there cannot be a person who has the knowledge of everything, but that immeasurable knowledge, unsurpassable knowledge is the īśvara. When we say the knowledge is limited, at least for the comparison there must be something which has an unlimited knowledge. When I say that I know only little then there must be something which knows more that is the īśvara. The all-knowing is the īśvara - tatra niratiśayam sarvajña bījam this is another dimension of the īśvara in the 25th Sutra of the pātañjali yoga darśanam.
