Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced Payment Domain SME and Solutions Architect to lead enterprise payment routing and processing initiatives within a large-scale regulated environment. This role requires deep expertise in payment ecosystems, transaction processing workflows, routing engines, and enterprise integration architecture.
The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, technology teams, vendors, processors, and third-party partners to design secure, scalable, and compliant payment solutions that support high-volume transaction environments.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the primary Subject Matter Expert (SME) for enterprise payment processing and routing solutions
Engage with business and technology stakeholders to gather and analyze payment requirements
Design and architect end-to-end payment routing, processing, and integration solutions
Define transaction routing rules, workflows, interfaces, and customization strategies
Work with payment gateways, processors, acquirers, PSPs, and third-party vendors for seamless integrations
Conduct architecture reviews, technical walkthroughs, and solution demonstrations
Define business and technical requirements, including edge-case handling and acceptance criteria
Ensure solutions comply with PCI DSS standards, enterprise governance, and security requirements
Support solution delivery from presales through implementation and operational handoff
Collaborate with engineering, operations, support, and product teams across the SDLC
Develop architecture diagrams, implementation plans, technical documentation, and solution proposals
Mentor and guide engineering teams on payment processing concepts and platform capabilities
Required Skills & Experience
Strong experience in enterprise payment processing and payment routing ecosystems
Deep understanding of:
Authorization
Clearing
Settlement
Reconciliation
Chargebacks / Dispute Management
Hands-on expertise with payment routing engines and transaction decisioning platforms
Experience with:
Card payments
Digital wallets
Alternative payment methods
Strong experience integrating with:
Payment gateways
Payment processors
Acquirers
Third-party payment service providers (PSPs)
Expertise in designing secure, scalable, and highly available payment architectures
Strong understanding of PCI DSS compliance and payment security standards
Experience working in high-volume transaction environments
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills
Ability to translate technical solutions into business-focused outcomes
Experience working within large regulated enterprise organizations
Preferred Qualifications
Fintech or Retail Payments background strongly preferred
Telecom industry experience is a plus
Experience supporting enterprise-scale payment modernization initiatives
Prior technical leadership or solution leadership experience preferred
