Touching His garment

Bible verse:

And suddenly, a woman who had a flow of blood for twelve years came from behind and touched the hem of His garment. For she said to herself, "If only I may touch His garment, I shall be made well."

Matthew 9:20 - 21 - NKJV

Reflection:

In faith you see things differently. This can bring you into a zone of conflict with others. The woman with a flow of blood saw the chance for her healing but it would take her into a potential zone of conflict with others. According to the Law of Moses she was meant to stay apart from people, away from gatherings, outside of social circles. In faith though she was stepping into a crowd intent on touching Jesus. See Lev.5:25.

If you going around seeing things from a faith perspective and acting or speaking accordingly it's going to bring you into a zone of conflict with others. Others will say things like, "We've got no choice!" Then when you suggest that in Christ there's always a choice you'll find you get an enraged reaction. "How dare you!" they'll say, "Are you an expert? Are you a doctor? Why are you telling me there's another way and another view of things? Don't you see the facts?" From your faith perspective you're seeing things differently and approaching the matter from angle they don't recognise exists, so they think you're way out of line! "There's only two dimensions to this situation I'm in," they say, "how dare you suggest there are three!" Heb.11:1.

Be prepared for the zone of conflict if you start seeing things from a position of faith! Realise others aren't going to see it from your position at all. In fact, they won't even accept that such a position is a valid one. Don't be unsettled by this and don't react badly to them. Don't dispute with them either. Move quietly aside but go on putting yourself in the position faith takes you to and where you can receive from God. It will turn to a testimony. Mar.11:22-26.
