The Best is Yet to Come! Jesus said, You believe because I told you I saw you under the fig-tree. You shall see greater things than that.  He then added, I tell you the truth, you shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man.  John 1:50-51 For many things in life the expectation is better than the actual event.  Advertising has heightened our senses to expect something very special, but the reality is a lot less thrilling.  Have you ever seen a sandwich in a menu that just causes you to order it, and then when it arrives it looks like a distant relation to the picture?  Our modern lives are so filled with hype that we can find ourselves in a constant state of disappointment. Jesus will never be a source of disappointment.  Nathaniel was pleasantly shocked and expressed faith just because Jesus knew his name and where he was prior to their meeting.  Jesus responds to him by telling him, "You shall see greater things than that."  How true this statement was.  Nathaniel would soon see water turned into wine, a boy healed at the spoken command of Jesus, the feeding of five thousand people, Jesus walking on the water, and a man named Lazarus being raised from the dead.  Even with that great miracle there was greater things yet to come.  He watched as Jesus offered himself and died on a cross.  He was there in a room three days later when Jesus was resurrected from the dead.  Nathaniel was there when Jesus ascended into heaven.  Nathaniel was filled with the Spirit on the Day of Pentecost.  The day of meeting Jesus was only the beginning.
