Victory Ahead With God we shall gain the victory, and he will trample down our enemies.  Psalm 108:13 This is the month of March.  For basketball fans, it is known as 'March madness!'  The time has come for the playoffs that will determine the best team in the land.  At this time, more than any other, victory becomes ultimately important.  Now a defeat means the season is over and you are going home.  It is just a game, but the young men and women who play act like it is life or death.  They play with intensity and passion because victory is their goal. In the game of life, King David understood that God is the only guarantee of victory.  With God on his side he had the majority, despite the numbers of people or the size of the beast.  With God he would gain the victory.  God would trample down the enemy.  As a boy I saw cows get into a grain field.  In hours they trampled down a large part of the crop.  The field was destroyed.  As they ate their new found food, their bodies and hoofs trampled down much of the grain.  David uses the same picture in regard to his enemies.  God, in a short time with a hail storm or pounding rain, can scatter and trample down the enemy. As a boy I trampled down grass and snow to make a flat spot on which to sit, but I wasn't big enough to trample down larger things.  The enemies that invade our life are larger.  We need God to do the scattering and trampling.  His boot is big enough to squash the head of the serpent.
