Data Science Fellows (5 Positions)

Place of performance: Remote – if necessary, need to go for meetings at client’s location in DC

Duration: 3 Months

Mandatory skills: Python, R, Tableau, ArcGIS Along with Govt clients experience

 

Role Summary:

The Data Science Fellow will support data analytics and visualization initiatives by developing data products, dashboards, and analytical solutions. The role involves working with datasets, performing statistical analysis, building visualizations, and supporting the development of analytical tools that assist in decision-making and program monitoring.

 

Key Responsibilities

Data Science Fellows will perform the following duties:

• Build, deploy, document, and provide training for data products and dashboards.
• Facilitate dashboard requirements gathering and development in collaboration with USDA mission area staff.
• Develop new visualizations for program and operational data to support business and management objectives.
• Develop medium and major dashboard enhancements based on evolving program requirements.
• Ensure consistency in dashboard style, design, and user experience.
• Integrate third-party dashboards and external data sources, where applicable.
• Convert existing programs performing basic statistical functions into R or Python programs.
• Perform software development work for lightweight prototypes supporting analytics initiatives.
• Conduct data collection and statistical analysis using tools such as Python and R.
• Develop data visualizations and dashboards using tools such as Tableau and ArcGIS.
• Perform simple data engineering work, including establishing data pipelines for analytics products.
• Develop training materials and end-user documentation for dashboards and analytics products.
