another twist of the knife

hi folks, i just got an "interesting" set of messages from the group of people(non-elected) who are the volunteer officers of the friends of the japanese garden . the news in a nut shell is that the Friends of Oakland Parks and Rec. -the city umbrella that is the 501(c) 3 -non profit organization that takes care of over 80 volunteer groups doing the business and work of the various parks and gardens thru out the city-so they all dont have to be a 501(C)3 THEMSELVES . since the '90's they have done their job for 1 % surcharge on money on accounts. they recently upped it to 3%. the news as of last Wednesday is that they are charging us 10% of balance. that means they are grabbing $3000. of our $30,00 grant. this is an outrage in the least, and the poop is starting to hit the fan. people who are dedicated to this activity-upkeep of oakland's park and rec centers for its citizens- are rreally concerned. my polite response is at an end. we have been busting our butts as you know to do something for the city and its deserving citizens, and this is what we get. bend over.
