i'm guessing that no one has shown up on your battlefield with a scythe or curved-blade sword. 

curved blade swords are excellent for shedding attacks with parries instead of blunt blocking.

scythes are the ultimate shield penetration - way better than a polearm.

i work for an inventor who has figured out how to bend PVC.  he's thinking he wants to show plumbers and electricians.

i'm thinking it'd be cooler to revolutionize the world of dagorhir.
