Hey guys my name is David, and I ready to get into Dagorhir, after hearing great things. My conundrum is I just tried to make a weapon and I am terrible at it. I looked on the websites listed on the Guilder site. Everyone has said Edhelen doesn't pass the other have nothing in stock. Is their anyone who I can purchase weapons from at a reasonable price. I would greatly appreciate it.

What size blue axes, and what size red sword (feet and inches)? For minimum
reds (4' or so) I have the materials in my garage. For anything longer, I'd
have to order something for the core. I don't like using PVC for big reds.
Any specific weight or balance requirements?

Claymores have a pretty wide range of sizes. Anywhere from 4 to 6 feet. For
manageability (depending on your size) you probably don't want to go more
than 5 feet. What's your shoulder-to-floor measurement?
Yep. Looks about like $40 for the red sword and $20 each for the axes, cloth covers included. The covers are one of the cheaper parts, BTW. I don't know if that's the price range you're looking for, but I can assure you they'll be good, solid weapons with nice handling characteristics (and a stabby tip on the red sword).
Let me know if you're interested.

Bearding the axes I can do with little extra effort, though the longer the beard is, the more likely it is to be a point of failure. Unsupported foam tends to tear with hard use.
Regarding the sword, there are tradeoffs with using the Uruk Hai style, and some are pretty hefty. One is that the spike is not going to look like you want it to look. It's going to be a bluntish triangular projection off the back of the tip that will be relatively fragile. Two is that you won't have a stabbing tip, and if you're going red, you really want a stabbing tip, even if you don't know it yet. Three is minor - that style sword in the movies was more of a blue size (but who cares - this is your fantasy). Four is that it'll delay completion a bit, because I've never built that style before and I'll need to figure out how to do it well.
I'll try to post some pictures of what they'll really look like sometime this weekend. I don't want to build something you won't like.
I've got a picture on my phone, but my connector cable is missing and the blasted phone doesn't want to connect to e-mail right now, so I can't send it to myself. I'll keep trying tomorrow.
