There are so many things to share and so few words to use!
Our family has now been in the States for two months. Until the end of August, we will still be working full-time on the translation and printing projects. You can follow the progress with the attached bar chart. Praise to God that the Worldwide Spanish Literature Ministry has taken on this printing project! The first printed booklets are headed to Burkina this next week with interns. The printing folks are richly blessing lives around the world. Please pray that the contract will come through for the children's bible. It is strange how slow they are moving at times and makes me nervous about the printing.
We have placed membership with the Oakcrest Church of Christ here in Oklahoma City and are connecting with this community. Give thanks to God that all of the moving and container shipment went well and that we were able to 'land' so quickly. It really makes a difference in the translation progress when we have power and fewer breakdowns! Also, Pray for all of is in this time of transition. Remember that the boys have only known Dano as home, so places like Oklahoma are just a little strange to them!

A look at a recent well rehab...just one of the many things we’ve been up to lately as this partnership with Living Water International and Oak Hills Church continues to grow and expand...
After a stormy night of rains and high winds, we headed west out of Dano to a remote village two hours away. On the way, we had to clear the road three times because of fallen trees. As we reached Didro the sun shone brillantly above. Our destination was a primary school which had a broken pump. For the last seven months school children have carried dirty water from an open hand dug well 1.5 KM on their heads to have water to drink. The Lord blessed us with a smooth rehab. After removing the old pump, we soon were testing the water recharge rate with a submersible pump and, of course, having a little fun with water on a hot day. After installing the new materials clean, fresh water was flowing again much to the joy and amazement of everyone there, the school director, teachers and children.
Since the noon day sun was getting so hot, we retreated to the shade of a nearby tree. There I told a short parable. What a blessed day, all made possible by our Great God, our donors and our partners. And the best part was yet to come when we returned to Didro on Sunday to gather with the Lord’s people and celebrate what He has done. More than 200 people came and our church leaders did an excellent job of presenting the Word and doing children’s ministry (something new for our churches), all for the glory of God. This water well ministry continues to grow stronger and more effective with each well rehab.
Thank you for your prayers!

Greetings from green Dano! The rains have begun in our area, the Dagara are hard at work planting, and we are all hard at work praying that this will be a fruitful rainy season for Burkina Faso. The Dagara depend upon one growing season for all their grains; join us in praying that this year the basket into which they put all their eggs will be good! The Burk Family
Our family is well; all three kiddos are healthy and enjoying life. We just returned from our annual West African Missionary Retreat where we were blessed to be surrounded by some of the amazing people we get to call ‘colleagues’. Every year we are reminded of the quality of people God has called to his work in West Africa. It is a privilege to be a small part of this faithful community.
Work is good. Our couple’s visitation ministry continues to be a blessing to us and to the village of Dano-Pari. Andy’s leadership training is going well; it’s a privilege to walk with these five men as we strive together to discern God’s will. His efforts as a part of a communal effort to plant a church in Ya-bo-gawn also seem to be bearing fruit.
Please be praying for our summer. We are hosting essentially two groups of interns. Pray that God would call at least some of them to be used by Him as long term missionaries here in West Africa (specifically Burkina!).
Blessings.

We've recently returned from the West African Missionary Retreat in Elmina, Ghana. Juli Jones, a missionary from Ivory Coast who has returned to the States moved us in speaking on compassion. We needed this after having lost our dear friend. We met Angeline our first week in Burkina. We have known her closely over the past seven years. She died on April 27th from some type of blood cancer. We worked hard to get her the treatment she needed, but the Lord had a different kind of healing in mind. She left behind 4 kids. We had the unique experience of being able to purchase 5 outfits and a new pair of shoes for each of the boys (Ezekiel 14, Bruce 11, and Amos 6) and about 25 little outfits for the 5 month old girl (Andrea Dorcas), with money people had donated to help Angeline. We will continue to try to make sure the kids get a home, schooling, and experience the love of Christ. Andrea and Daniel and Dylan are trying to finish out the school year and we are all gearing up for interns. Aaron now has 11 evangelists / church leaders he is working with and his primary focus is teaching them to draw new lessons from scripture. He is also working in Yabogawn to evangelize Fer-taa and his whole family. Eighteen people have signed up for baptisms so far and we'll be baptizing them this week. Praise the LORD who brings healing to us all.
Peace,
The Burks
