So my question is, what kind of resources does the Render Distance in Minecraft mainly use? Is it the RAM (it is stated within the Optifine mod that I must allocate at least 4Gb of RAM to Minecraft in order to set a render distance higher than 48 chunks), the CPU, or the GPU ?
Minecraft mostly uses a single core of the CPU for chunk rendering. More then twice the ram as the game is going to use is too much, but 12GB seems appropriate for this distance. More then that tends to make the game run slower regardless due to garbage collection. The GPU can help, but given that minecraft is CPU-heavy to begin with, the CPU is by far the bottleneck for most desktop PCs.
thats my specs and i get a consistent 50-55 fps and its just stutters soo bad and lags its almost unplayable and i dont know what else to do cause ive tried max graphics low graphics and everything in between also tried some guides from youtube and nvidia control panel settings and nothing same fps the whole time so any help would be great
The ram usage happens in spikes generally while loading maps, you notice the drawbacks of less ram throughout the match based on the loading? I really dont know but if you read the article i put up user:Kwon stated a page file memory fix which helped me during my entry days a couple wipes ago.
Make sure to use only physical cores, I'll share my settings for you idk if it will make any differences. Force v-sync off thru nvidia is another suggestion. Your hardware shouldn't be the issue, I'm making the assumption that you use a SSD for your tarkov installation not just the launcher. i Do believe that you can have them installed on separate drives if you weren't paying attention
I can max all the settings and will only suffer from very few frame drops unless i play light house, but using these settings i maintain over 65 frames on lighthouse and my frames only drop to 48 at the worst. I prefer to play at 80-100 frames so i've tweaked it to maintain my preference.
i have also been on 32gb of ram sincei started this thread soo i know its not hardware using the same amount of ram on 32gb as on 16 62% to be exact and 40-50%cpu and 20-40 gpu just poor optimization and i think it about ruined it for me and im calling it quits for a while ill try again next wipe
Have you tried a driver roll back? I had the same problems last year and it was the GPU driver not working well with EFT. Another solution could be to go into the manual tuning menu and look if your card is running on all cylinders.
Having problems as well. Below system specs. Tried following all youtube video/website recommended escape from tarkov settings. Conclusion I was able to improve from 30 fps avg to 50 fps avg. I need 60 min 65 avg fps to play properly in my opinion. 60-80 fps desired.
More details: Upon raid (offline or online) launch fps is 0 - 60 fps for a fraction of second to loadup. Next 30 seconds or so I have 70 fps avg. Amazing happy happy. Then all the scavs or the rest of the map loads in, you can tell when this happens every raid. From then onward (30 seconds or so in and onward) I have an avg fps of 50, or 40 or even 30. I've tried the lowest, highest, and middle of the road graphics settings. These changes have a very minor impact on FPS for me. I should be able to play on the higher end of the graphics settings given my desktop hardware. I beleive the issue to be either a memory issue or perhaps even a power supply issue? Unsure.
and then support told me to NOT try and optimize in nvidia control panel soo i reverted all back to default in everything and now now at what i believe to be "default" settings and why i said medium ish cause im didnt really check them but ive got very playable game again
i have 2080 and 10700kf with 16gb 3800mhz ram with fast timings. im having 150 fps on fact\lab. other maps are around 90-140... but in some places where a lot of lighting i have like 65-70 fps... it making me mad... i cant play the game on 70 fps... and i dont play lighthose at all, becuz my fps drop there to 55 when im in the manson.... i cant play the other games. but i cant play the game that have 70 fps or less. i hope dlss will help a lil bit. or im need to buy 3090 and new gpu to play it on perfomance i want and this hella money thats the new rig.... idk what to do... im beter play this game with shyty graphics but whith 150 stable fps rather this shyt from 55 to 155 fps...
Here's what I have done to increase my FPS in tarkov, my frames have increased from an average of 60-75 -> 90-144 (Lighthouse and Streets are an exclusion from this) I have a very similar setup to you.
AMD RYZEN 7 3700x
Nvidia RTX 2070 super
16gb DDR4 3200mhz
m.2 NVME SSD
I initially had amazing frames in EFT until the 0.12 patch and then suddenly I had absolutely terrible frames in the game no matter what settings I tried to couple with from highest to lowest, to low everything except textures, deleting my settings folder in escapefromtarkov %Appdata% and the whole spiel...
I ended up doing some digging and also reaching out to some local streamers that play tarkov and run on AMD systems that had experienced similar issues at some point or another. The main issue here for me was that I couldn't maintain anything above 60-75fps unless I was in specific spots of most maps but having heavy dips in FPS to as low as 30 for no good reason and never hitting above 80 fps unless loading into Factory which then I would be pretty stable at around 120-144.
1:Setting XMP on through bios so that the ram would actually run at 3200mhz
2: right click escapefromtarkovlauncher - open file location - find escapefromtarkov. exe right click the application - hit properties - hit compatibility - at the bottom hit change HIGH DPI SETTINGS - within popup tick "Override high DPI scaling behavior" - hit the drop down and select APPLICATION. hit ok apply and ok.
(this helps a great deal to prevent Frame drops while ADS with any scope higher than a 4x)
3: Download AMD MASTER and install it (overclocking tool from AMD) once its up and running select advanced view then rename one of the user modes to SMT OFF - set these as follows:
Control Mode : Excluded
Cores Section : Excluded
Voltage Control : Excluded
Additional Control : INCLUDED
Cassio's Here. Last week I visited my grandma's house, and tried to play minecraft in a old computer. I had some issues with RAM and I couldn't install much mods, so I'll write a little about how to optimize minecraft (you can use it in other java games) so that it runs smoothly in your PC.
Oracle recommends that -Xmn and -Xmx be set to the same value. This eliminates potentially costly heap reallocations, and can reduce the amount of heap fragmentation that can occur. Setting -Xms is then unnecessary since the heap size itself is static.
