.Recent heavy rainfall has caused significant runoff into streams and
rivers which will cause flooding in some areas.

The National Weather Service in Peachtree City has issued a
* Flood Warning for
The Etowah River near Canton.
* From this evening until Friday evening.
* At 10 AM Thursday the stage was 14.5 feet...and rising.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 16 feet.
* Forecast to rise above flood stage by this evening and continue to
rise to near 17.7 feet by tomorrow morning.The river will fall
below flood stage by tomorrow afternoon.
* At 18 feet...Minor flooding expands into the woodlands and fields
along the river upstream and downstream from the gage by the
Walaska Street bridge. Large portions of recreational areas such as
Boling Park behind the Cherokee County High School...the Cherokee
County Fairgrounds and the Etowah River Greenway at Heritage Park
will be flooded with up to two feet of water. The parking lot at
Boling Park will be under one foot of water. Portions of the Mill
Industrial Way Road begin to flood.

continue to rise to near 22.8 feet by early Saturday morning.The
river will fall below flood stage by Saturday evening.
* At 22 feet...Minor flooding begins in the woodlands...fields and
pastures along the river upstream and downstream from the gage on U
S Highway 41 or Battlefield Parkway.

The North Fork Peachtree Creek near Atlanta.
* From this morning until further notice.
* At 10 AM Thursday the stage was 11.9...and rising.
* Flood stage is 13 feet.
* At 13 feet...Flood stage is reached. Minor flooding of the
natural flood plain begins upstream and downstream from the gage on
Buford Highway or Georgia Highway 13. This includes low portions of
the backyards of residential homes on Victory Drive...Dunwoody
Place and Converse Drive. This height combined with the flow on
South Fork Peachtree Creek may also produce flooding further
downstream on Peachtree Creek in Fulton County.

The Broad River near Carlton.
* From this afternoon until Friday afternoon.
* At 10 AM Thursday the stage was 12.9 feet...and rising.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 15 feet.
* Forecast to rise above flood stage by late this afternoon and
continue to rise to near 16.0 feet by after midnight tomorrow.The
river will fall below flood stage by tomorrow morning.
* At 15 feet...Flood stage is reached. Minor flooding of woodlands
and fields begin upstream and downstream from the gage on the
Georgia Highway 72 bridge. A sand dredge operation on the left bank
near the gage will become affected. A portion of Roy Wood Road will
be flooded with a few feet of water and the dirt parking lot of the
Broad River Outpost for Canoes and Kayaks will begin to flood. A
wooden pier and portions of the yard behind an assisted living home
off of Roy Wood Road will be flooded.
