New issue 1160 by vlad.seg...@gmail.com: :open sometimes fails in private
mode
http://code.google.com/p/dactyl/issues/detail?id=1160

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Open a private mode window
2. :open <url>

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
One expects to open the url entered. Instead, nothing happens. I cannot
always reproduce the problem, but when it happens, other commands don't
work as well (:tabopen, :version, etc.)

What is the output of :yank :version, or the exact Pentadactyl version and
Firefox build identifier (see the about: page)?
Pentadactyl 1.1 (created 2014/03/15 20:14:21) running on:
Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.9; rv:29.0) Gecko/20100101
Firefox/29.0

Can you reproduce this problem with all custom configuration and plugins
disabled (i.e., running firefox -pentadactyl '+u NONE')?
No, but this is not 100% reproducible during regular browsing either. I
will update this issue as I get more info.

I have the same issue also, no pentadactyl keybindings seem to work on the
newly opened private window and same version (Pentadactyl 1.1).

What you can do is just disable and renable the Pentadactyl addon in the
addons manager as a workaround to get it to start working again.

Comment #2 on issue 1160 by muffinpo...@gmail.com: :open sometimes fails in

http://code.google.com/p/dactyl/issues/detail?id=1160

I can somewhat reliably reproduce this by doing the following:

1. Invoke firefox -pentadactyl '+u NONE'
2. :private winopen
3. :open foobar.com (in the private window)
4. Close the private window with d
5. Repeat #2 and #3

The second time, attempting to open a website will fail. Like what the
submitter said, this isn't 100% reproducible

I attached a log of a case where this happens

Pentadactyl 1.2pre-hg7094-default (created 2014/06/01 19:50:12) running on:
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:29.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/29.0

I have this problem and may have found a workaround:

Ctrl+Shift+P opens a new window, and the bindings seem to work.
