Dear friends
Most of you do not know this person named Vishwa Prasad. He is a hard working, very calm and composed person. He and me took the admission in the same year i.e in 2004.He got registered for PhD and me in M Phil in the same department which is 200 percent brahminical in nature. After six years of literal torment exposing him to various institutionalised tortures like coursework, additional course work(harassment), subjecting him to humiliations now and then, and finally when he has reached the verge of submission he was forced to terminate from the programme on flimsy rather silly grounds. It is just because he backgrounds a dalit community and he is the first scholar who could reach to that height in the ELE department. Moreover it is the heinous brahminical attitude which could not see a dalit's progress in the field of ELE manipulated certain institutional gaps to his termination. It is the utter failure of the university because they could not provide a suitable guide after Dr.Julu Sen has left for Sri lanka on deputation last year.
It is nothing but just a premium example of how casteism works in the academic spheres.
We should condemn this move by the institution very seriously and do something which would help him to submit his thesis.
