nov 30 (friday) is Bonifacio Day and dec 1 (saturday) is
the first day of National Volunteers Month in our
country. two meaningful days not to be in the 4th Tsinoy
National Convention, right? :) best of all is we'd still
have sunday to rest :)
below are two short articles to inspire you (click the
links to read the full texts).
we will post more convention news, updates and feature
articles at tsinoynationalconventions.wordpress.com
in the coming weeks. you may register online at the
same, too!
In the light of the aftermath of the habagat early
this month, the Kaisa Para Sa Kaunlaran board of
directors postponed the Fourth Tsinoy National
Convention originally scheduled on August 31
September 1 so as to respond more ably to the needs of
our fellow Filipinos displaced by the southwest
monsoon rains and its consequent floods.
The convention is reset on November 30 December 1,
2012.
Kaisa likewise cancelled its 25th anniversary
celebration this August to put the disaster relief
operations on center stage. To date, Kaisa has
distributed 6,466 packs to households in Manila
(Binondo, Tondo); Laguna (Bae, Cabuyao, Calamba, San
Pedro, Sta Rosa); Quezon City (Fairview, Tullahan);
and Rizal (Cainta, Cardona, Jala-jala and Montalban).
Relief
distribution to other towns is scheduled in the
coming weeks.
From the
first packs prepared last August 10 to the third
repacking on August 21, volunteers never failed to
help out. Kaisa is also grateful to all the donors
for their continued support.
Photos of the disaster relief operations are uploaded
in our Facebook page: KAISA Para Sa Kaunlaran. Like
